Who Keeps My Body Balanced? In the pool this morning, having a relaxing swim, a sudden thought crossed my mind. Who always keeps my body balanced? Walking, running, swimming in the water... our bodies are truly amazing. So, I did some research. As expected, our bodies, created by God, are truly mysterious.Every day, we walk, climb stairs, and stand on two feet. These simple moments are possible thanks to a highly delicate system inside us.Deep within our ears, in a place called the inner ear, there is a special balance center. Small parts inside it feel every move and gravity change, sending signals to the brain. Also, our eyes, muscles, and joints all work together with the brain in real time to keep us upright. Thanks to this wonderful teamwork, we can keep our balance on slippery roads and stay safe from sudden trips. Whenever I swim, I love feeling the gentle movement of the water. I always use my swimming time to check my body's balance and listen to my beating heart. Feeling centered in the water is such a precious moment for me. And now, knowing the secret behind it makes it even more special. Sadly, as we get older, this sense of balance naturally gets weaker. The balance system slows down, and losing muscle makes falling a big risk. Bone fractures in old age can be very dangerous. But the good news is, we can keep our balance sharp through practice. Exercises like standing on one foot, yoga, and my favorite swimming give our brain good stimulation. This helps build the strength we need to stay steady.Losing balance is not just a story about our physical bodies. In life, our hearts and minds often shake and lose their center, too. But just like our bodies, our inner balance can grow stronger with practice.Rising up again after a fall, and staying flexible without breaking when life gets shaky—this is the real secret to a healthy life. Today, just like the steady heartbeat I felt in the water, I hope my mind stays calm, peaceful, and beautifully balanced.

Financial Freedom on YouTube, and My Real Position. These days, when I turn on YouTube, I see the words "financial freedom" so often. The screen is full of successful stories about young people who made millions and quit their jobs. Looking at them, I sometimes feel a bit rushed. But tonight, I wanted to quietly turn off the screen and ask myself honestly. What kind of financial freedom do I really want? And where am I actually standing compared to those people in the videos? In fact, if I look past those grand success stories, my idea of financial freedom is quite simple. If my bank account has a little more money than what I comfortably spend in a month, wouldn't that be enough financial freedom for me? I do not need to run blindly just to grow the number in my bank account to match others. As an old saying goes, money is just a tool to make life comfortable; it cannot be the goal of life itself. They say that once life becomes stable, more money does not bring endless happiness. In the end, it is much more valuable to define a beautiful financial size that I can handle and find small joys within it.If I can slowly step away from money worries, a gift named "time" will come next. But can I happily use that free time entirely for myself? I think it really depends on my daily habits and how gently I design and enjoy my day. Someone once said that time is a treasure that we cannot save up like money. So, no matter how much money we have, we can easily lose our way if we do not know how to handle our time. To find real happiness instead of loneliness in that long, free time later, we need the wisdom to shape our daily lives beautifully and firmly. Otherwise, that vast amount of time might become a heavy burden rather than a blessing.Thinking about this makes me quietly ask three questions about the second chapter of my life and my precious time. First, am I sacrificing too much of my precious time right now just to make money? Second, am I pushing back today's happiness just to dream of freedom in the distant future? Third, what is the most precious value in my life that I never want to lose? I hope the time in the second chapter of my life will not be a gray time of just resting or spending money. Instead, I want it to be a time of growth, keeping my body and mind healthy and warmly sharing my life wisdom with others. Money is just a tool to help my life. So, once a small foundation for monthly spending is ready, I will no longer trade my precious time for money. I want to live responsibly, shaping my days gently based on my own standards, without being shaken by the flashy standards of others on YouTube. Happily, a sweet three-day weekend starts tonight. Every office worker knows how delicious and precious this break is. During this holiday, I should fill my tired body with healthy energy by going for a refreshing swim and climbing a green mountain. Also, I want to read the books I have been putting off to pleasantly stimulate the nerve cells in my brain. Practicing how to shape my life beautifully starts right tomorrow, by gently designing each day of this wonderful weekend.

The Recognition I Long For So Much.. As I looked in the mirror today, I felt a bit sad. I realized I have cared too much about what other people think of me for a very long time. Now, I need to listen to my own heart and ask myself what I truly want. Looking back, I always pushed myself too hard. Maybe it started when I wanted my parents' praise as a child, or from competing with others as I grew up. People say there is no right answer in life. However, even if there is no perfect answer, I believe we still need our own direction and philosophy. I feel like I have been lost for too long. I am finally learning that other people's praise or success only brings short happiness. True happiness must come from inside myself. I don't know why I kept looking for answers from the outside. From now on, I want to find my own clear direction. I want to be happy with my small achievements and learn something new every day to care for myself. These days, the world moves so fast. Sometimes I feel small when I see other people's perfect lives on social media. But that is not their whole life. I should not compare my beginning to someone else's end. We are all like flowers that bloom in different seasons, so I just need to walk at my own pace. In relationships, I always felt anxious when I tried too hard to please others or hid my true self. True belonging comes when I am just being myself. I want to build healthy relationships based on respect and comfort. My past years are too precious to spend them living for other people's expectations. For the rest of my life, I want to be the master of my own life and live by my own philosophy. Tonight, I reflect on my choices today and remind myself that I am the main character of my life. I promise myself to believe in who I am, value myself, and fill each day with a warm and beautiful story.

Schopenhauer and I: How Do We Think Differently?Recently, I have been reading a book about Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophy of life. As a single person, many parts of this book really touched my heart. So tonight, I want to quietly write down my thoughts in my diary. As we get older, our lives naturally move into a new phase. I like to call it "Chapter 2 of Life." How can I fill this second chapter beautifully without feeling lonely? How can I live a meaningful life at my own pace? As a single person, these questions used to feel like heavy homework. But in Schopenhauer's words, I found many unexpected answers. When I read about his life, I understood why he talked so much about loneliness. When he was young, his father passed away suddenly. He lived with his mother, but they did not get along at all. His mother was a very social person, and she eventually kicked him out of the house. Because of this deep pain, Schopenhauer lived a very lonely life until he died. This might be why he was so negative about women and love. He did not believe in beautiful spiritual love. Instead, he thought love was just a basic animal instinct to produce children.Because he lived a completely lonely life, he believed that human life is just a cycle of pain and boredom. He said we feel pain when we cannot get what we want, and we feel bored as soon as we get it. Reading this made me a bit sad. But at the same time, I felt sorry for him because he tried so hard to comfort himself in his deep loneliness. His struggles now become a strong guide for me as I start my own Chapter 2.Schopenhauer said that as we get older, our daily habits and attitudes become more important than new desires. He noted that old people tend to become stubborn. So, we need to find a good balance between our own stubbornness and kindness toward others. He also said that to enjoy true freedom, we must step away from complicated relationships and learn to enjoy being alone. He chose to be alone because people hurt him. He famously said, "Only those who love loneliness can be truly free." When I think about it, he is right. True inner strength comes from how we spend our time alone. When we are alone, art, music, and books become the best comfort. Schopenhauer believed that art is the only way to heal our pain. I feel the same way. When I listen to my favorite music or read poetry alone in my room, the noisy world disappears, and I feel deep peace. His advice to avoid wasting energy on bad relationships really stuck with me. In Chapter 2 of life, I do not need to try to please everyone. It is much better to keep a small number of close, warm relationships with people who truly respect me. Keeping a healthy distance from others is the best way to protect my peace of mind. These days, I truly cherish small daily habits: reading quietly, writing down my thoughts, and looking at green nature during walks. Music and poems make my soul rich. Learning new things makes me feel young and excited. Like Schopenhauer, who loved the peace of nature, I believe nature has a special power to heal a tired mind.Schopenhauer lived a hard life full of hurt and loneliness. But paradoxically, his sharp advice gives me great courage to stand alone. Learning to embrace loneliness, and letting go of worries through art and nature—these attitudes will make the second chapter of my life bright and rich. Schopenhauer used loneliness as a wall to protect himself, and his life was a bit sad. But as a single person, I want to enjoy this loneliness in a warmer and happier way. To fill my soul with warmth until the end, I will quietly prepare for my beautiful Chapter 2 tonight, using his wisdom.

Travel is Not About Leaving, But Finding the Way Back to Yourself. A First Step to Finding Myself in a Busy LifeI regularly take time off from work to go on trips, both within my country and abroad. From the moment I circle the dates on my calendar and book the flight tickets, my heart already feels a bit lighter. Packing only what I need into my suitcase and leaving the familiar city always gives me great energy. Walking on so many different paths, I have received the precious gift of looking deep into my heart, going beyond just typical sightseeing. In this writing, I want to share what I have felt during my travels and my own little philosophy.A Journey of Discovery, Finding the Real Me on Unfamiliar RoadsPeople often think of travel as just moving physically from one place to another on a map. However, to me, a true journey is more about the movement of the heart, walking deep into myself rather than just seeing new scenery. The moment I leave my familiar room and face a completely new environment, I can finally look straight into the eyes of the real me, who was hidden behind a busy daily life. Philosophically speaking, travel is not just a game of looking around the world. It is a beautiful chance to find the pieces of myself and expand my own universe.A Clear Mirror to My Daily Life, Looking Deep Into MyselfIn a daily life where the exact same routine repeats every day, it is hard to notice what I am really thinking or what I truly want. However, whether standing on a quiet forest path in my own country or a busy exotic street abroad, a new breeze always makes me look back at my values and lifestyle. The countless choices I face while traveling—where to walk, what to eat, or who to talk to—are entirely up to me. Because of this, I understand myself better and my inner strength grows. As I quietly watch the people I pass by and see how they live, travel becomes a clear mirror that shows me who I am.A Wide Window to Someone Else's Life, Understanding and Welcoming the WorldEveryone views the world through a small pair of glasses made of their own environment and experiences. Through my regular trips, I have learned to take off those tight glasses and accept the colorful worldview just as it is. When I mix with people who have completely different cultures and values, the walls of my limitations and prejudices gently melt away. By learning to respect and warmly understand our differences, my point of view becomes wider and deeper. In the end, travel is a huge window that opens my heart wide to other people and the world.Happiness in the "Here and Now," Living in the MomentIn modern society, where we live with endless plans and breathless goals, travel is the most perfect breathing room for me. The moment I put on my backpack and arrive in a new place, I escape from past regrets or future worries. I focus entirely on my senses in the present moment. I step back from the busy flow of time to look at the blue sky and share a warm smile with a stranger. In those short moments, I realize with my whole body, "Ah, I am truly alive here right now." In this way, travel is a beautiful way of living that reminds us how precious each moment is.A Lighter Suitcase but a Deeper Heart, A New Way to Look at PossessionsI really love the saying, "Happiness is not about how much you own, but how deep your experiences are." Every time I pack my suitcase for a trip, I choose only the minimum things I really need. As I walk the roads, I finally realize that the many things filling my daily life are not actually that important. When I learn that the scenery and memories saved in my heart are much more precious than material things, I receive a philosophical change. Even after returning to my normal life, I learn to feel thankful and happy with small things.A Gift from Life's Limits, Understanding Life Through Its ShortnessStanding before grand nature or historical places full of old memories, I naturally feel small and humble before the long flow of time. The moment I deeply accept the natural fact that my life will not last forever, a deep question surprisingly comes to me: "Then, how should I love and live the rest of my life?" Travel helps me stay away from temporary trends or empty greed, and lets me focus on the truly important values of my life. Just like calmly accepting a scary and unfamiliar world, travel is a precious tool that teaches us a humble and mature attitude toward life.In the End, the Way Back to Myself, A Lifelong Journey to Explore ExistenceLooking back, travel has always been much more than just escaping my routine or taking a short rest. It is a meaningful process of searching for the meaning of human life and exploring the true value of my existence. Looking at a new world with curious eyes, connecting warmly with people on the road, and looking closely at my inner self with deeper eyes—after experiencing all of this, I feel that I have grown into a much richer and more genuine person than before I left. That is why I keep leaving on journeys, and that is why I always come back home. In the end, travel is not about leaving for a far away country, but a warm path that brings me completely back to the most authentic version of myself after traveling many roads.

Saturday, August, Looking out at the deepening green, the vibrant green scenery outside the window gently seeps into the living room. Having a warm cup of coffee in hand brings a sense of peace, and it makes my familiar daily life look uniquely special today. I’m not sure if it’s from the pleasant wake-up call of the caffeine or the cozy afternoon laziness of summer that strangely clears my mind. I just find myself looking down at the phone in my hand, quietly reflecting on a small piece of life. Come to think of it, my phone feels like a part of my body these days. It’s a way to share my heart with people I love, a small window to see the world, and sometimes a mirror that reflects my true inner self. But even this all-powerful device has one absolute requirement: the battery. No matter how pretty or smart its features are, once the power runs out, it just becomes a cold piece of metal and glass. It made me smile to think that our lives are actually very similar to this little battery. When I check my phone in the morning sun and see it fully charged at 100%, my steps feel much lighter and more confident. It feels like I can handle any complicated work or urgent messages that come my way today. That’s probably because a full charge brings a sense of calm and confidence to my heart. On the other hand, if I forget to charge it and leave the house, anxiety starts the moment I open the door. The second the red warning light blinks at the top of the screen, my entire focus goes into finding a charger or a power bank. I lose the room in my heart to enjoy the pretty scenery or have deep conversations with the people next to me, all because of that small battery limit.I try to connect this image to the long journey of life. The green, youthful years of our lives might be the most precious time to charge our batteries for the long road ahead. This "charging" doesn't just mean packing our brains with knowledge or saving money in a bank account. It means filling ourselves with good values to look at the world warmly, building up inner strength to withstand any sudden storms, and creating invisible trust through meaningful connections. Those who carefully fill themselves up during their youth can enjoy true freedom when they reach the calmer afternoon of their lives. Without the fear of suddenly running out of energy, they can gently guide their own lives at their own pace and fully enjoy the green view outside the window. On the other hand, those who forget how important it is to recharge and just let time slip away will inevitably feel anxious and rushed later in life. The price of an unprepared life is emptier than we think, and it usually comes in the form of deep worry and regret. But luckily, there is one big difference between our life's battery and a cell phone. We have the ability to self-recharge. A machine always needs to be plugged into an external power source to move, but we humans have an inner warmth that lets us recharge ourselves through deep reflection and quiet thoughts. This morning, as I drink my favorite coffee and look out at the summer scenery, this peaceful feeling is probably my own way of mentally recharging for tomorrow. In the end, life isn't about running the fanciest or coolest apps. It's about how consistently and deeply we care for the small inner engine that keeps those apps running. A soul that is fully charged from the inside out won't be easily shaken by what others say or think. It can just keep walking at its own gentle pace. Outside the window, the green is growing deeper and brighter. If my life's battery is full, this bright summer energy will become a beautiful background that lifts up my entire life. For the rest of Saturday, I think I'll write in my heart's diary, checking how much battery I have left and what pretty things I should fill the empty spaces with. Recharging is never about stopping; it's the most beautiful and active way to prepare to go further and stay healthy.

“Not What More I Can Gain, But What I Can Leave Behind and How I Choose to Live” Today, a thought quietly came to me. I am now in my late fifties. When I was young, I always looked ahead. Perhaps I did not simply walk through life. I ran. I had to earn more, be recognized more, and carry more responsibility. For my family, for my place at work, and for the need to prove that I was still capable, I kept moving without much rest. Back then, I did not have much time to think deeply about the value of life. Reality always came before meaning. Salary, promotion, housing, children’s education, parents’ concerns, retirement plans. Those things filled my days. I do not believe those years were meaningless. I did my best in my own way. I endured what I had to endure. Even if I may not have been perfect in someone else’s eyes, I know that I lived sincerely in the place where I stood. But looking back now, I feel a quiet sense of regret. I spent so much time doing what I had to do that I rarely asked myself what I truly wanted. Even on days when my heart was tired, I pretended to be fine. Even when I felt lonely, I acted as if nothing was wrong. I thought that was what a man had to do. I thought that was what a responsible person had to be. And I have gone through a separation. I spent many years within the name of marriage. There were moments of happiness, and there were also wounds. There were days when I felt lonely even while living with someone. There were times when love existed, but understanding did not. Looking back, it is difficult to say that everything was only one person’s fault. After becoming single again, I learned a few things. Living alone is not always freedom. Living with someone does not always mean you will not feel lonely. And perhaps what truly matters is not only who stays beside you, but what kind of heart you carry as you continue to live. These days, the way I look at life has changed. In the past, I used to ask myself what more I could gain. Now, I find myself asking what I can leave behind. I am slowly accepting that positions, titles, money, and achievements will one day move away from my hands. In the end, what remains may not be how much I possessed, but what kind of person I was. What kind of memory did I leave in someone’s heart? When people who once stood beside me remember me, will their hearts feel warm? And most importantly, have I lived in a way that does not make me ashamed before myself? Health no longer feels like something I can take for granted. I now pay attention to even the smallest signals my body sends me. When I was younger, I thought it was all right to push myself. I believed I could endure sleepless nights, emotional burdens, and physical exhaustion. But now I know. Health is one of life’s quietest and most precious gifts. Without it, even a meal with someone you care about, a trip to an unfamiliar place, or a warm cup of coffee alone cannot be fully enjoyed. From now on, I want to treat my body and heart with more care. My feelings toward family have also changed. When I was younger, I thought my role was to take responsibility for them. I felt the weight of being a good husband, a good father, and a dependable provider. But now I realize that relationships matter as much as responsibility. To my children, I want to give trust rather than interference. Instead of holding them within my way of thinking, I want to quietly support their own lives. What I want to leave my family is not only material wealth, but comfort, trust, and warm memories. I also think differently about work now. For a long time, work was a major part of my identity. There were days when my position, title, and achievements seemed to define who I was. But one day, all those labels will be put down. When my title disappears, will I still be okay as myself? It may be time to rebuild my value not as someone inside a company, but simply as a human being. Now, instead of only looking for a higher position, I want to share my experience and heart with others in a meaningful way. I want to be someone who offers warm advice rather than sharp judgment. I want to be remembered not only as someone who moved ahead, but as someone who knew how to step back with dignity. My thoughts about money have changed as well. Having peace matters more than having more. Money spent to show others who I am no longer feels important. Money that protects my stability, dignity, and freedom feels far more valuable. I hope money becomes not the purpose of my life, but a quiet fence that helps protect the life I want to live. More than anything, peace of mind feels precious these days. I do not want to be easily shaken by other people’s opinions. I want to tell myself that I no longer need to try so hard to be a good person in everyone’s eyes. I am learning that one can feel empty even while surrounded by many people. And one can feel whole even while being alone. I am also learning that relationships are not about how many people are around me, but how deeply I am connected to a few sincere hearts. Someone who feels comfortable even in silence. Someone who understands the words I do not say. Someone whose presence makes my heart calm. If there are even a few people like that in life, perhaps life is warm enough. Of course, I have regrets. Moments when I was not gentle enough. Words I felt but did not say. Time I lost because I was too busy with work. Relationships I could not repair because of pride. But I do not want to live holding only regret. Rather than denying the life I have lived, I want to live differently with the time that remains. I want to believe it is not too late. I want to believe that love, relationships, and caring for myself can still be learned again. Life in the late fifties may not be a time to prepare for the end. It may be a time to learn the depth of life again. Now, I want to become not a man who has more, but a man who is warmer and stronger within. I do not need to be impressive. I simply want to be remembered as someone comfortable, trustworthy, and warm to think of. Today’s conclusion is simple. From now on, I want to live not by climbing higher, but by growing deeper. Rather than asking what more I can gain, I want to ask what I can leave behind and how I choose to live. I do not know how much time remains. But I want to live that time more honestly, more warmly, and more like myself. I have gone through separation once, but because of that, I have come to understand certain things more deeply. There is a gentleness that only someone who has passed through pain can carry. There is a depth that only someone who has learned to live alone can understand. Now, I want to live not to lean on someone else, but to stand more truly as myself. And one day, when someone remembers my life, I hope they remember me this way. He may not have had everything, but he had a warm heart. He carried wounds, but he did not lose his dignity. And until the end, he tried to love his life...

I want to write today’s diary as if I were making a film. Not just any film, but one filled with memories I would want to return to again and again many years from now. A film that, when replayed in the distant future, would bring back the sound of the rain, the scent of the night, and even the voice of my friend. After finishing golf in the rain and taking a shower, it was already 10:30 at night. I felt hungry, and a quiet tiredness had settled into my body. I asked my friend SH how long it would take to get from there to his villa. He said we would need to drive another 30 to 40 minutes. So we quickly packed our things and headed toward Jincheon in Chungcheongbuk-do. My friend suggested that we stop by a convenience store near the highway exit, just in case the stores in downtown Jincheon closed early. We decided to buy some food and drinks before heading into the mountains. I put my favorite Hoegaarden beer and bokbunja wine into the shopping basket. My friend, thinking of his health, picked up makgeolli, instant rice, and a few snacks. But the moment we stepped out of the convenience store, the sky began pouring down rain as if it had been waiting for us. It was not just ordinary rain. It was the kind of rain that deserved to be called a downpour. The wipers of the camper van struggled back and forth, and the world outside the window blurred into a misty curtain of water. On the way, I asked my friend about the villa and what kind of condition it was in. A few weeks earlier, he had only mentioned over the phone that he had found a new villa, but I had not had the chance to ask for details. He told me the house was located about 500 meters above sea level, surrounded entirely by mountains, and that the air there was unbelievably clean. However, he added that he was still gradually preparing household items, so things might be a bit lacking and uncomfortable. The rain showed no sign of stopping. After passing Wonju and exiting through Sillim IC, we arrived in downtown Jincheon. I saw a Pelicana chicken restaurant, a few small shops, and a CU convenience store that was still open. The small lights from the town felt strangely comforting. Once we passed through the town and entered a narrow mountain road, the camper van began to shake heavily. It was technically a paved road, but it was full of gravel, narrow, and difficult to drive on. As we climbed the dark road with no streetlights, a scene from a movie suddenly came to mind. I imagined a strong man in a poncho, holding a shovel, disappearing into the woods to bury something. All kinds of unnecessary thoughts started passing through my mind. My friend said that because the rain was so heavy, the side mirrors and windows were fogging up and blocking his view. He opened the window halfway and continued driving up the slope. The incline felt as steep as 45 degrees. Everything around us was swallowed by darkness, and the only things we could hear were the sound of the engine and the rain breaking against the headlights. For a moment, I had an uneasy thought. If the car slipped here, it would be almost impossible to reverse safely. Since my friend carried so many camping supplies and household items in the van, I worried that if the vehicle slid backward, it could become a serious accident. My friend kept his eyes fixed ahead and drove carefully without saying much. Then, in a slightly tense voice, he said, “This is my first time driving in weather this bad.” His nervousness was clear in his voice. After about ten more breathless minutes, we saw a red car parked in the pitch-dark mountains. “What is that red car doing here?” I wondered. Once again, my imagination wandered. My friend told me it belonged to someone who lived in the area. Finally, a single streetlight appeared faintly through the rain. My friend said, “This is it. The villa.” There were two houses. An elderly couple, the owners, lived in one of them, and my friend had rented the other on a long-term lease. I suddenly became curious and asked him, “How did you even find a place this far away?” He said he had found it on Danggeun Market. He had been to Jecheon several times for camping, and he had fallen in love with the mountains and the fresh air. While looking for a villa nearby, he came across this place for a deposit of 30 million won and decided to take it. Considering the size of the house, the price was unbelievably low. But getting all the way up there was certainly not easy. We parked the van as close to the front entrance as possible and began unloading our things. We also took out the golf bags, soaked from the rain, so they could dry. As we carried each item through the pouring rain, my friend told me he had prepared two military-style mattresses for me. There was no bed, but he knew that sleeping directly on the floor would be difficult for me. I felt grateful. He was the kind of friend who noticed my discomfort even before I said anything. After quickly organizing the house, we started heating up the pork backbone potato stew we had packed from Uijeongbu. Since my body was wet from the rain, I was craving something hot and spicy. As the stew began to boil, a rich and savory aroma filled the room. The smell awakened both my tired body and my hungry soul. On the table were camping tools and simple household items. In that small villa deep in the mountains, we shared the steaming gamjatang. As beer and alcohol warmed my body, I began to feel pleasantly relaxed. Strangely, the gamjatang we ate there tasted better than anything from a famous restaurant in the city. SH, who is a true camping enthusiast, said that this was exactly why he loved camping. Listening to him, I felt I could understand it a little. There is a certain freedom that can only be felt through discomfort, a warmth that arrives after hardship, and a kind of sincerity that becomes clearer in a place where there is almost nothing. Before we knew it, it was already 2:30 in the morning. We decided to leave the cleaning for tomorrow, brushed our teeth, and prepared to sleep. Never in my life had I imagined that I would one day eat pork backbone potato stew in such a remote mountain village while listening to the sound of heavy rain. It was a scene I could never have pictured on my own. I found myself admiring my friend’s decision to make a villa in this remote part of Jecheon, surrounded by rain and darkness. What was it that brought his heart all the way here? Was it simply a villa he had been searching for, or was it a quiet refuge of his own, far away from the noise of the city? Tomorrow, I should ask him gently. I want to know what kind of longing led him to this deep mountain place.

July 18 in 2026: A Weekend Story Amidst the Rainy Season This weekend, I finally spent some quality time in nature with my high school friend, SH. We are best friends, but due to overseas business trips and clashing schedules, it was incredibly hard to meet. We finally gathered this week to connect with nature. Our plan was to play golf on Saturday and spend Sunday at his newly prepared villa in Jecheon. Around 2:00 PM, I met SH at his apartment complex. As a hardcore camping enthusiast, he showed up in his newly acquired Starex Limousine camping car. Stepping inside, the seats felt as cozy and comfortable as an airplane's business class, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing ride all the way to Bellastone Country Club. I was worried because of the monsoon season, but Hoengseong looked like a completely different country—the ground was totally dry. My friend grumbled that the weather forecast is unreliable and joked that meteorologists should implement a "real-name forecasting system" to take responsibility for their predictions. Although rain was predicted from 8:00 PM, it wasn't raining when we arrived, meaning we couldn't cancel. So, we decided to play and see how the weather turned out. Since we were in the third tee-time slot, we quickly changed our clothes, grabbed dinner at the clubhouse, and rushed to tee off at 5:28 PM. Being early evening, the weather was much cooler than expected and without rain, making it perfect for golf. There was still some puddle accumulation in the lower areas of the fairway from the morning rain, but it didn't cause any major issues for our play. Perhaps because it had been a while since I last played, my driver kept slicing to the right. My body was honestly telling me that I hadn't practiced enough lately. Fearing it would pour, we skipped the break after the first 9 holes and moved straight to the back nine. Drizzle came and went, and at times the rain got quite heavy, but we successfully finished all 18 holes. No matter how you look at it, Koreans' love for golf is truly remarkable. Even during the monsoon season, people still book tee times, and golf clubs operate night games so guests can exercise in the cool air. Personally, I felt it would be better for golf courses to enforce mandatory cancellations on rainy nights for the safety of the guests. Thanks to my camping-loving friend, I got to experience a rare night of golf in the rain. Once again, I salute Koreans' ultimate passion for golf. Tomorrow, I look forward to writing about the Jecheon villa story, which feels just like a movie.

"I've always built my life by listening to my own heart rather than following conventional standards. Now, I am looking for my best friend - someone to walk side by side with at our own pace, sharing laughs over the simplest moments of everyday life"
